Updated: Apr 9, 2020

Howdy World 3 folks. Hope this finds you & yours doing well. Below you will find suggested resources to choose from in order to support your learning for this week of the closure. If you would like feedback on your writing or any work on an activity for this week, you may email it to me.

**An important note: as we head into our spring break (4/13 - 4/17), please check Skyward and your teacher websites regularly for the next phase of At Home Teaching and Learning beginning on MONDAY, APRIL 20. See Superintendent Thiele's update here for more details: https://www.issaquah.wednet.edu/family/supports/learning

1) Khan Academy (videos + short quizzes) - check out the playlist to re-visit and explore new World War II content. There are other video playlists on 20th century history as well, including the rise of Hitler & the Nazis, Mussolini & fascism, and other topics we've covered in our course. **There are a TON of videos---you do NOT need to watch all of them. Pick out 2 or 3 of interest to you. :)

2) Newsela article (read + mult. choice comprehension Qs) - check out this article on our Files page (https://matzencisd.wixsite.com/worldhistory/files-for-wh-3) current day Poland and the ways in which countries and people today grapple with the legacy of the Holocaust.

3) Ted Ed - "The secret student resistance to Hitler" (video, ~ 5 mins.) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtOKRsF6Rr0

- Things to think about as you watch: What motivated students in the White Rose group to resist? How did they try to convince / persuade other Germans? What can we learn from their efforts?

4) Textbook (available in ClassLink - https://launchpad.classlink.com/issaquah. (Once you're in, choose the orange & white app titled "Pearson EasyBridge.")

- Parts to review/re-read: Ch. 29; Ch. 30, Sect. 1

- Possible optional activities: Cornell notes, vocab list (terms & definitions), cause & effect webs/diagrams
