WH 2 (fresh.) - Week of 4/27 - 5/1

Greetings World History students,

I hope you are staying healthy and settling into something of a routine after the first week of At-Home Learning!  It has been great to hear from you and thank you for your patience, hard work, and the initiative you are showing with your at-home education.  Below you will find the week’s schedule and some important reminders.

Here the schedule for this week (4/27 – 5/1):

TUE. (4/28) – go to the “April 27 – May 1” Channel in Teams.  Watch today’s PPT video file and then complete the activity “Urban Conditions.”  One of the links in the Assignment post is to a Word document, in which you will find the assignment.  When you use Word within Teams or Word Online, your work should automatically save in your One Drive (cloud storage).  You can select it from there when you submit it in Teams.  This assignment is due by Fri. 5/1 (B).

WED. (4/29) – I will have Office Hours from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesdays where I will be available for quick email responses to questions and for video calls (the “Meet” feature within Microsoft Teams).  Please let me know in advance if you would like to schedule a video call.  I will also do my best to have Office Hours on my prep periods (2nd and 5th periods on the At-Home Learning schedule sent out prior to spring break----subject to change in the future).  If you want something extra to do this week, check out Teams on Wednesday for an optional activity on economic systems (capitalism vs. socialism).

FRI. (5/1) – go to the “April 27 – May 1” Channel in Teams.  Watch the PPT video file for today and then complete the activity “Communism (Common Lit).”  For this, you will read an article about Karl Marx and the origins of communism in response to the Industrial Revolution.  Then, you will complete comprehension questions in Word document (linked in the Assignment post), which you will submit in Teams.  This assignment will be due by Tue., 5/5.
