WH 2 (fresh.) - Week of 5/4 - 5/8

Hello World History students,

As we enter the month of May and the third week of At-Home Learning, I hope this finds you & yours doing well and keeping healthy as we make our way through this challenging time!  Keep up the great work and thank you for staying patient and flexible!  Here is this week’s schedule and a couple of reminders.

The schedule for this week (5/4 – 5/8):

TUE. (5/5) – go to the “May 4 - 8” Channel in Teams.  Watch both today’s PPT video file AND the video clip on communism.  Then, reply to the discussion question posted along with the communism video (located in this week’s channel).  Lastly, complete the first HALF of the activity “Effects of the Industrial Revolution.”  The Assignment post will have a link to a Word document, where you’ll do your work.  When you use Word within Teams or Word Online, your work automatically saves in your One Drive (cloud storage).  **NOTE: Today, you will only do half the assignment (5 effects of 10)---you can use “class time” later this week to finish & submit this assignment on Friday, 5/8.

WED. (5/6) – I will have Office Hours from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesdays where I will be available for quick email responses to questions and for video calls (the “Meet” feature within Microsoft Teams).  Please let me know in advance if you would like to schedule a video call.  I will also do my best to have Office Hours on my prep periods (2nd and 5th periods on the At-Home Learning schedule sent out prior to spring break----subject to change in the future).

FRI. (5/8) – go to the “May 4 - 8” Channel in Teams.  Watch both today’s PPT video file AND the TedEd video “Urbanization and the Future of Cities.”  Then, reply to the discussion question posted along with the TedEd video (located in this week’s channel).  Lastly, finish the second HALF of the activity “Effects of the Industrial Revolution,” and submit it in Teams.  This assignment will be due today, FRI., 5/8.
