WH 2 (fresh.) - Week of 6/1 - 6/5

Greetings World History folk,

As always, I hope this finds you doing well and keeping healthy.  We are officially in June and the last weeks of the school year!  I want to commend you for the awesome work you are doing in these tough circumstances.  From here on out, we will continue with the shorter daily tasks on “class” days, which hopefully has become predictable and makes things manageable as you plan for the rest of the school year.  Just a few weeks until a well-deserved break!  Here is this week’s schedule and some announcements.

The schedule for this week (6/1 – 6/5):

TUE. (6/2) – go to the “June 1  – 5” Channel in Teams.  Watch today’s video PPT file and then head over to the Assignment “Crash Course WWI” in Teams.  Watch the Crash Course video (linked in the Assignment post), and then complete the activity in the attached Word doc.  This assignment is due on Fri. 6/5.

WED. (6/3) – I will have Office Hours from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesdays where I will be available for immediate email responses to questions and for video calls (the “Meet” feature within Microsoft Teams).  Please let me know in advance if you would like to schedule a video call.  Starting this week, I will also be available for Office Hours on Monday afternoons from 3:30 – 4:30.

FRI. (6/5) – go to the “June 1 – 5” Channel in Teams.  Watch today’s video PPT file and then head over to the Assignment “WWI Causes” in Teams.  This will include some document analysis and thinking about causes of World War I (WWI).  Everything you need for today is in the attached Word doc in Teams.  This assignment is due on Tue., 6/9.

- Your overall Semester 2 grade will be your grade as it stands at the end of the semester OR your Baseline grade---whichever is higher. Remember though that this assumes you have attempted to engage with online learning---so make sure you are active & completing work in Teams.

- Final semester grades will be letter grades A - D or an Incomplete. If a student earns an Incomplete for World History, then they must make up that credit in the future, as this is a core class.

Previously recorded lessons (and the PPT slides they’re based on) can be found under the “Files” tab in the channel for that week.

Please reach out via email or in Teams if/when you have a question, need help with anything, etc.!  Keep on hanging in there, you can do it!  Talk to you soon,
